In 2048 mankind was doomed to the Earth. All prior advancements in space travel were nullified by a catastrophe when an asteroid the size of Montana struck the moon. Fragments of the moon splintered across Earth’s orbit obliterating the International Space Station and sending millions of shrapnel particles hurling through high orbit. Space travel is no longer viable, the Earth has become mankind’s prison. Humanity is reminded of this fact every night as they look up and see the streak of debris stretching like a scar across the night sky.

Eventually, all governments fell leaving only the most massive corporations in control. They had already systematically hoarded all the
natural resources and positioned themselves as the saviours of humanity. Inevitably fighting among the corporations started and the few major cities still in existence were transformed into fortresses. The constant debris raining from the sky eliminated the use of any kind of aerial combat and without satellites, drones and GPS-guided rockets were a thing of the past. The corporations took what they had left of their air force fleets and invested in the construction of Bipedal Infantry Assault Vehicles or BIAV’s. These walking armaments could maneuver much better than the traditional wheel or track-based vehicles and could be equipped with a fully customizable range of
weapons.
