The early discoveries of gunpowder and steam-driven machinery led to the ancient Roman Empire’s successful defeat of Barbarian forces to the north and conquering of the East, including the fall of China and Japan. Rome became the ultimate superpower, preserving the empire for millennia, and quickly expanded beyond the boundaries of old earth.
As scattered enclaves of humanity throughout the galaxy seceded from the empire, Rome once again looks to reunite humanity under the banner of the Eagle.

Legio Gladiatorii is an auxiliary shock force typically deployed in the most demanding situations. The Gladiatorii are deployed directly into combat from low-orbit, hammering down on their foes as demi-avatars of old Mars, the roman god of war.
